How to Test Apex Proxying

This guide will explain how to configure Apex proxying using Namecheap and cloudflare. For the official documentation please refer to: https://developers.cloudflare.com/cloudflare-for-platforms/cloudflare-for-saas/start/advanced-settings/apex-proxying/setup/

  1. Create DNS A Record for the fallback domain:

  1. Configure fallback domain under SSL/TLS -> custom domain name:

  1. Create custom Hostname using your Apex Domain:

Copy the TXT record below:

Add the TXT record in your DNS server:

  1. Add the DNS A record of your Apex domain and point to the static IP provided by cloudflare (IP address information is not available in the dashboard):

  1. Flush DNS A and TXT cache in google public DNS (below link) to speed up the propagation:

  1. Monitor the status of the Apex proxying:

  1. Access the apex domain and monitor the traffic:
